The earth spun seventy times faster when it first came to me

A lucid imagining, a beautiful beginning

The gracious foreshadowing of lives aplenty bestowed

A handshake with a reality in creation

Our greatest human invention, a dream

A second gulp of this sweet mead

Loosened the lips of my heart to heed

That I may compose the loveliest melody of hope today

That may or may not morph into the loathsome threnody of mope someday

Never mind that; just plant the seed

At least for now, I am with unbridled joy

One which surrounds and follows me on this discovery

The notes of that which I desperately desire most

Carefully unto the pages to Dream’s sheepcotes

Even now, I ferry this ship of controlled chaos on the tides of uncertainty

With the shoreline of what needs to be done in sight as a lighthouse

And what life awaits, a place to moor on its coast

Ahoy!

It is a shared greeting of unique futures untold

Like the familiar encircling of wintry cold

Felt only by the brave and the bold

Spoken loudly by those who are betrothed

To love dutifully, unhindered and unburdened by any load

A language with different intonations

Bound to us as is to the skin of Nubian princesses, kisses of gold

Another swipe of it lends truth to a path

It can be the orange ball of fire floating merrily in the aether of the cerulean sky

That directs light unto the road of redemption

Leading the foray against the darkness of persecution in its noxious sty

It is the warmth felt in the appendages of our hands

Burning as the lasting fires in Centralia

A fuel of Acacia wood for the fireplace of our will

To keep fresh the perfect blueprint for life hereafter this moment

Hereafter whatever straits that demand change

It reminds us

We are indeed sons and daughters of the True One

It reminds us

We are capable architects of wonder

Oh! We were invincible when we conceived it

This foetus of hope, a fashioned homunculus of power

The creative spark that sets the wheel of life in motion

And offers its momentum to keep it spinning

The key holder to freedom

One that gives another chance to erase past transgressions

A harbinger of great exoduses from cursed circumstances

This whole experience is a miracle of our making

When we dream

When the fragmented thoughts of life’s hopelessness

Whisked us into the void of depression

I become the anchor that grounds even in this bottomless harness

You also embody the tethering force beating the winds of sorrow into submission

Together, we thread the needle of restoration

Sewing back together a patchwork of sanity and focus

When we dream

As the moonlight baths us in its borrowed glory

An admixture of emotions festers

A feast of regrets and disappointment pesters

We are still the same in the face of detraction, her powerful jesters

As she sorely calls us

Because we are immune to her wiles

The ones she showcases as sedating siestas

If she was unaware, now she knows

We dream even with our eyes wide open

When all is said, ensure you keep this

Dream with reckless abandon

Mock Morpheus’ mediocrity

Drench your eyelids in the ink of possibilities

Dream because you will it
